02 JUN 2026 — 5 MIN — KYA STUDIO
Every producer keeps a drawer.
Not a real one. But ask anyone who has made films for a living and they'll pretend not to know what you mean, then tell you about it for twenty minutes. The idea that died in the budget meeting. The ending cut because the location was only free on a Tuesday. The shot everyone in the room knew was the best thing in the script, right up until somebody did the maths.

We spent twenty-five years filling that drawer.
Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai. Agency side and client side. Government work where the approval chain ran to eleven people and every one of them had a note. Retail work where the deadline was Thursday and the product didn't exist yet. You learn to protect an idea the way you protect a match in the wind. You lose most of them anyway — not to bad taste. To arithmetic.
The arithmetic changed.
KYA Studio is a house of directors, artists and engineers. Composers, editors, colourists. Some of us work with generative tools, some with cameras, most with both, and the film decides which — never the other way round. Fully generated, fully shot, or the two in the same cut so cleanly you'd have to be told.
We spent twenty-five years filling that drawer.
Yes, we've seen the bad AI films. We've made a few. We didn't release them.
That's most of the job now. Anyone can generate an image; there are teenagers doing it on a phone. Knowing which one deserves to exist, and killing the thirty-nine that don't, is the part that took twenty-five years. Most bad work in this category doesn't fail in the generation. It fails in post — no grade, no score, no one left in the room with taste at four in the morning. Which is why our colourist matters as much as our director.
What it buys you is unfair. A finished film in days, not a treatment in weeks. Change the talent on Wednesday. Change the ending on Thursday. Air it Monday. Nothing we make is ever locked, which means nothing you approve is ever a risk.
We make four films a quarter that nobody asked for. The plan is four a week.

Best idea wins.
